I am a native of Washington County VA. After a wonderful childhood in the Southwest VA hills, I obtained an excellent education at Southeast Academy for High school. My entrepreneurial spirit and love of architecture and antiques lead me to downtown Abingdon. What an amazing place to birth and own a business. I have either sold a piece of furniture to or framed a diploma for most of the county and beyond. While I loved retail, my strong sense of community, the relationships I was building and my interest in the lovely older homes in Abingdon lead me to realize that real estate was the profession for me.
I have also spent time in the banking industry which gave me insight to yet another facet of home buying. This knowledge will allow me to help my clients and customers better navigate the sometimes “murky” waters of real estate.
I met my amazing wife and best friend, Monica, in 2006, and married her in 2011. We are active members of Abingdon Emmanuel Episcopal in Bristol, VA. I come from a very supportive and loving family. My parents instilled strong values in me and my three siblings from an early age. From running charitable races to serving hot meals to the needy, I believe in treating others as you'd have them treat you- this philosophy is the basis of my relationship with my clients; to serve them as I would serve myself.
Being a real estate agent is a full time job for me, but weightlifting, running, and impromptu games of football with the family dog, Jasper, make up a large amount of personal time at the Shew house. I have been playing piano since age four, and enjoy rising with the sun to practice music for Sunday morning service.
Whenever you work with me, know that I am devoted to my clients and their needs. I am honest and clear, driven and knowledgeable. I will use my time, talents, and resources to help make your dreams come true. You can learn from the past, you can live in the moment, but nothing is more exciting than your future. Let's find it together.
